with everything going on, i surprise myself how keen i am on focusing on when i will return to shaolin kung fu training. i told myself 6 weeks from snapdragon's arrival, we can concentrate on getting back to temple consistently, albeit slowly. todays rant is fueled by a query posed by another kf brother: what move would you be & why? there are so many good ones & by that i mean powerful ones & also ones that i really enjoy. after discussing it with heng cheng, i decided on pubu chuangzhang lunbi zaquan because as heng cheng said: my move would pretty to look at but turns out to be deceptively deadly, like myself. ha! besides, pubu is definitely one of the ones that i love, gives me a charge & giggle when i do it & is so satisfying in it's complexity. it's full of stretches & rotations & involves a whole host of moves & extensions. it's one of the ones where i consistently get a cheer from my brothers when i perform it.
so loosely, if all goes well, i will have 1 day a week i can train (courtesy of heng cheng & her babysitting skills) with heng ji & another day in the week that heng ji can watch the snapdragon & i can train. although, yes this is all pending on a whole list of things going well or coming along fine, i have to plan this way otherwise it will feel like i will never have a chance to go back to shaolin training.
my dance instructor does warn to take it on the easy side since that chemical relaxin will still be in the system making me susceptible to over stretching & likely to hurt myself in the process of getting back to par & shape. i have to keep that in mind. i will have to relegate myself to KFK for a bit until i build up the stamina again.
moreover, i really need to spend a bit of time relearning yiluquan which i just finished when i learned i was preggers. in fact, i only got to the first move of erluquan! i'd like to secretly plan to test for erluquan in october if all goes well & if i go at it hard core! that really means i am testing for all 3 in one run. we shall see.
there are other considerations of course & some of these require special gear! or additional cross training. but if i can get 2 days a week to train consistently then i should be at a good start. more chi to that!
