summertime in die niederwelt sure keeps you hopping! it was dreadfully hot this morning & cloudy at lunch then it sprinkled quite a bit (though it was heavy downpours in midtown, according to qbertplaya) & now nasty & sweltering again. just in time for training!
i am excited about training tonight. quan tuo showed me the other jump so i will be practicing that & following it up with the punches. i have decided to be more pro-active in the pushing to learn department, no longer waiting to be taught, well, at least this week while sifu is away.
no quan tuo again tonight since he is still recovering from a strange cold that's coming in stages. i think the prevalent use of AC is somehow responsible for this. there is something about the fan that i find better than AC but not all of us feel the same. plus he can't sleep when it's too hot. however will he live in a hot country? but i digress. he should rest up since we have a weekend of shaolin fun on the beach coming up!
much to do in way of packing. i have been warned that it could get supercold at night so bring pants & a sweatshirt (check). quan tuo is in charge of the tent & such things. it's an introduction to the 10 days in tahoe to follow in the wilderness. no wait! it is very different venues but lots of outdoorsy action. i am just going with the flow & hope that i have the right gear.
although we spend a lot of time together, i have not spent more than a day with my shaolin brothers in one run (save quan tuo, of course). i wonder what it will be like? quan tuo isn't one to just lay around the beach so i am sure there will be games galore. i wish we could play paintball but that would require cashola & gear. i imagine it will be special water training & lots of hanging out. looks like a great crew of people too.
we meet after L2 training at temple & proceed from there, probably stopping for a quick meal. at that time of night, heng de thinks it will be under 2 hours. that would be awesome. will know more tonite.
in the meantime, i need to sit outside in the heat to reacclimate myself from this frigid office.
