shaolin on the beach

friday after such a long 3 days of work this week, quan tuo & i hit the alligator lounge for some free pizza & refreshing whiskey drinks. rosa met us & we mosied over to matchless where skarbakka met us & we hung out for a while. quan tuo played pool too! it was a nice way to end the work week & we ended up staying up pretty late!

saturday a group of us shaolin folk headed off to jones beach. quan tuo & i previously went with heng jian, his girl & her roomie (that was mellow fun) but this time 11 of us went to do some shaolin on the beach! it was a bit of a coordinating nightmare at the beginning but we pulled it all together & fit ourselves in 2 cars with a grocery & butcher stop (along with a quick sip at a pub!) along the way. jones was empty as usual in the late afternoon & we had a great time! there were lots of photos taken & some are so great. the only pain (literally) was the mosquito frenzy leaving the beach to bbq & during the bbq but luckily we are hardy folks! we hung out some more afterwards when we returned to the city. such a great day.

we plan to have more such outings in the near future with a revolving group! more chi!

sunday quan tuo & i chilled out at home. we watched the film little children which was very good & took the boys for a lovely walk around the hood in the early evening. we then hit dumont's for yummy bloody marys & caught up with my friend michael before going home where i made a slammin' pasta dinner.

apart from missing training all weekend, it was such a great weekend filled with so many different activities. all weekends should be like this!
