today is the first day of my tai chi training at temple which sifu gave me permission to switch to as i have been dying to train but am unable to give 3+ hours twice a week or more to kung fu. sifu didn't need a lot of convincing. he was open to it & pretty much suggested it. i had been calling the temple to set aside some time to talk to him but as it turned out this past saturday, heng ji, heng ju & i spent a few hours in the afternoon at temple to put up the flag as is our charge & i was able to speak to sifu then. it was nice to be at temple again & being there makes me want to stretch! it's crazy but the second i walk in, i wanted to do cesoufans & warm up all these old bones! but of course i could not since buddhism class was going on & there were many a project ongoing including ours. heng ju also liked being at temple, on her tummy attempting to eat the carpet, she was cheerful & even walked off with other brothers who wanted to hold her, including a few times with sifu.
i am excited about this type of tai chi as it is different from yang style i studied years ago. this is supposedly more explosive! we shall see. i will, as usual, give an account of my experience & how the body acclimates to this new training.
the training is more important for my mind right now & to create space between the snapdragon & myself as well as to stretch the body & mind in different ways after a long year+!
more chi!
