i should have my poor wrists checked out. the right one has been hurting the 3rd trimester into now. the left one is getting to be just as bad. with all the snapdragon carrying (she really wants to be held!) my wrists are just not getting a break. i think i mangled my independently purchased brace since it gave me a bruise when i last wore it. i should just get a new one.
otherwise i noticed my posture & lower back is suffering! i was carrying the snapdragon today going through the motions of caijao to get my posture to what it was & man i tell you it's a long way back! like a lot of things.
when will i be back to my fighting form? hell if i know. i was amazed that during a forward bend i barely touched the ground. this from a girl who had flat palms on the floor once upon a not so long time ago. grr. heng ji is right: i need to stretch more. though i still have 2 more weeks of recovery as mandated by doctors post delivery, i should work the stretch in more often, at least in parts. the heat should help with that. in walking the boyos this week, i realized my calves were tight & that i somehow was more agile when i was preggers! dammit! that can't be true but it is in some way. i have already been doing much more than prescribed as safe & helpful to recovery but how can i not when there is a snapdragon here. i need to be more patient with myself. it's just so hard. why is it one can't extend the same courtesies to ourselves we do for others? it's weird.
in the meantime, i will take advantage of the fact that some friends have offered to babysit so i can take care of myself & get some much needed check ups.
all wrists aside, it's a happy day, snapdragon is one month old in 26 mins.
we celebrate by getting some blog time while she sleeps & by going to bed myself!
