i delivered the tiny snapdragon 12 days ago & although i don't look at all like my old self, i can tell you i am safely on my way back to normal. folks: once you have the baby there is so much still the body needs to go through & not just in the going back to prepregancy weight (you are advised not to diet OR work out until 6 weeks have passed). in fact, for 2 weeks after you are released from the hospital, there are a whole list of things you cannot do, like:
1. drive - well i have to move the car from side to side as is required with alternate side parking but i am trying to keep ahead of it with planning
2. walk up & down the stairs - forgetaboutit! i live in a walk up & i really mean walk up! also snapdragon loves to be walked up & down in the middle of the night!
3. do housework - how can this be avoided with a brand new child & the endless things to do?
4. no heavy lifting - uhuh.
5. no involvement in heavy sports - i suppose they don't consider carrying the baby around a heavy sport!
this brings me to the my point: i have figured out when i am returning to training & it is on
24 JUNE, TUESDAY
that's exactly 6 weeks from my snapdragon's arrival & i tell you i cannot wait! although i am concerned i am going to pass out or vomit from the training. i really should do my best to take my time & take it easy. after all it would have been 9mos since i last trained & it will take some time to get my stamina back. i have been training in a wholly different way, of course, but i need to remind myself & be patient with myself & not rush to complete erluquan (which i just started learning when i learned of my pregnancy). oh i cannot wait. i hope i am up to the task.
i imagine it will be one day a week for a bit then 2 days until we figure out a schedule & some sitters (there are lots of volunteers but we will need to see when there really is a need). i may celebrate by buying a new uniform since i only have one. we shall see. either way it's exciting to have a date to look forward to. in the meantime i am slowly working back into my routine. walks with the boyos, the baby girl & heng ji the last couple of days. i am not yet my usual self but there is hope.
also there are a few things i would like to do with the tiny snapdragon, some classes that would benefit us both:
swim class
mommy & baby yoga
sign & sing classes
also just incorporating her in the morning dog walks when i am stronger though it is a lot for me with 2 big boyos & a snapdragon in a papoose. will have to play it by ear of course.
plans, plans, plans.
what i must do for now is to rest (especially when she is sleeping) which i hardly ever do. i must recuperate from the hectic ordeal my body went through. slowly it heals. i must eat better, more often & sleep when i can. tis hard, so much to do, i am so impatient. but i'll try. afterall, i am on my walk back to my old self. well, new & improved old self.
