shi heng ji (aka quantuo) & i were married on 18 november in the cape cod area of chatham MA. it was a beautiful & sun-filled sunday afternoon in the middle of november attended by immediate family & my friend & photographer sergio. we had a wonderful time & it was the first meeting of our family.

we are currently searching for the next place to hang our collective hats. our sojourn in bushwick is coming to a close & it's a mad dash to find a new place acceptable to our needs - man & beasts, that is. moreover, we are very particular about where we wish to live, proximity to work, dogpark, friends & training. also our needs include additional space for the baby.
yes, you heard me right! we are expecting a baby in may. it is a brave new world!everything is going well with that, except that i can no longer fit into my clothes which gives me a headache each morning. no morning sickness the first trimester (i am so lucky, i know!) & now beginning the second, i feel good. i just started a somewhat goofy dance class to keep moving. also the dogwalks which used to sustain me no longer do so because the bloody freezing weather is upon us. not that boy bunny & the black bird aren't getting their exercise, it's just not as glorious.
at our next doctor appointment we can find out the sex of the baby which is a highly debated topic. i reserve the right to have the last word & it is this: i think i want to be surprised or to keep the mystery alive for a while longer. heng ji would like to know (being in charge of painting the baby room among other things) but i will make us wait a bit, i think, opting for the doctor to write it down on a piece of paper to be put in an envelope for later gratification. he understands my slant & is being very sweet not to press the issue.
regarding the search for a new flat - we have found the perfect place & are now in the throes of doing all the paperwork, putting cash together to move in. i have to tell you, it's ridiculous how much money is involved in a rental! but i hope, hope, hope, this place works out because it is wonderful. positive chi everybody! worship to the housing gods & harken back to good apartment karma!
heng ji is loving his new job. he likes his work, his boss, the location, his hours. he is ahead of learning curve & i must add that he is styling in his new shirts & it's great to see him in a suit again.
boyos are good despite their lack of friends to play with. they make do with lots of chasing, wrestling & barking at one another. i think the move to a better neighborhood is paramount to the boyos because they so need to have friends. it has been sad for them. i should say i am sad for them. we miss our friends at mccaren but it's just too bloody far away dammit, even in great weather.
i have to say i am very happy. although i miss training a lot, i look forward to returning & getting my body back. i am enjoying the sort of break the second trimester gives you. the first, although comparatively easy for lucky me, was a tremendous change in so many ways. i will enjoy this as much as possible since by all accounts the third is worst than the first.
things between heng ji & i are better than ever. we still socialize quite a bit despite me getting tired a lot earlier & what i call "no fun chad". it's important to see friends when you can despite all (& i do mean ALL) that is going on. i hope once we are settled apartmentwise we can spend more time with friends as we set up & psych up for the baby. that still sounds strange! the baby.
amituofo! more chi!
