twilight zone

i mean this in some strange but good way: quan tuo & i seem to be in some kind of twilight zone. not episode per say, but the lingering loss of time or times lack of importance (not that it was ever a big deal with me). it was evident on the 4th when we naturally awoke at 1pm & i thought: shite! where did the time go? the boyos didn't even wake us up! regardless, i have been enjoying it, though i think it has something to do with our schedules, smoking too much, general malaise of the summer, love of naps. any & all of it contribute to that feeling that i don't know what time it is, that the body clock is off it's rocker & more importantly, that i don't care what time it is. again, not a bad thing. except missing training which sticks to a fairly regular schedule. must get back on that again. quan tuo has been training hard so his body deserves any rest he can give it!

back at the office today, friday! yesterday i was feeling under the weather thanks to tom & too much fun on the 4th. the only thing i did manage to do yesterday was pick up my friend's car that i have until the 13th & it was 10pm when i did that! for the 4th, we met some kung fu brothers at battery park for the new pornographers concert. i enjoyed myself, being with those guys & i even recognized one of the songs! the music wasn't my favourite but again, it's all about who you are with. quan tuo & i appeared with cherries & fresh beef, pork & chicken jerky, i thought a real worthwhile contribution, right towards the end of the opening band. we stayed throughout the sprinkling rain & all managed to relocate ourselves to the outside section of a cute bar on a boston-looking street in the area. we gathered around picnic tables & dranks some beers & other spirits, snacking & chillin'. most went over to qbertplaya's to watch the fireworks. we went home to the boyos & watched a fab show from the balcony. billy & trish came over post fireworks & hung out with us a bit. mac was ok actually, once the shot of jamesons was administered in small quantities on his much licked nose & if someone was holding him the whole time. we took turns. tentoes was so great, actually watching the fireworks & he barely barked while outside with us in the rain. the citronella candle was a saviour. a lot of libation, not enough food, too much smoking = tummy ache. but it's all good.

let's hope today flies by. it's kung fu movie night: shaolin master killa! hanging out with quan tuo & our kung fu brothers! it'll be awesome.

tomorrow off to boston for a family infused weekend. it's my best cousin's baby shower (his wife is due in august) & my bro-in-law's bday & lobster grill! can't wait to hang out with the kids. i am sad they already saw ratatouile so we have to find another film to take them to! boyos are set to stay with their friend nina this weekend. good times.
