feeling hot, hot, hot!

when last i checked todays temperatures, it was 90 degrees but it feels so much hotter than that. weather.com said it felt like 99 degrees, well thanks, already knew that! it is hazy & humid & once again the forcefield around nyc is kicking, keeping the heat on the ground, coming from both above & below (thanks to the subway systems).
how does one cool off? stay in the office where the AC is constantly on? drink lots of liquids? wear little to nothing? ball up that hair? oh it's hard to say. i feel like i am sweating whenever i am not in AC (office, subway or bedroom) & there is nothing much i can do about it.
the air quality is also not very nice. i felt short of breath & it is hard on the lungs to actually get a full breath in. not to mention that the smell is awful, summer heat smell accompanied by the city stench.
why this rant? well, quan tuo just came by to say hi & i had to stand outside for a few minutes & i was overly oppressed by the heat. we are both training tonight & it is gonna be painful. he trained last night & i fetched him afterwards to join L2 folks for soup training & they said sifu left the fan on for them (a first!) & although everyone said it was hot & sticky, only heng de felt nausea from the heat & that he couldn't breathe. that is worrisome.
so i must be armed with cool water to sip, an emergent-c (raspberry!) for extra pep & really sort myself out while training, careful not to hurt myself in an way & to be conscious of how i feel. i plan on getting there the usual time to acclimate myself to the temperature in there, do some warm up (not too much) & stretch. also must leave time for shaolin hair, ever important in this everything-sticks-to-you kind of weather.
already i have that stomach ache about it. more chi!
