yesterday despite a very late night partying the night/morning before with our shaolin brothers, ji (b) & i made it to certificate ceremony to show support for our shaolin brothers who tested & have received certificates &/or gone on to level 2. quite a few close brothers are now joining heng ji (b) in level 2 & i am so happy for them! it was a treat, after all this time of not training, to be at temple with everyone, catch up & share some very special temple kind of love. also i was more than glad to be there to cheer on my shaolin brothers!
of course a small part of me was like: damn! i should have tested yiluquan! but there will be time enough for that & more, when testing rolls around next october for shaolinchad. in the meantime, i must train harder!
i really mean that.
these days i have been mostly walking the dogs or more specifically driving them places where we walk & stand around as well as walking them up & down the 4 flights of stairs. certainly this is not enough for me but i am also strangely winded & often feeling a lot colder (especially now that indian summer has vanished as quickly as it came on!) but i am making better efforts to walk the boyos more places.
moreover, i have not completely forgone the other training i am looking into, namely: checking out the maternal dance place & swimming. since i cannot get time with my friends who wish to teach me to swim, i figure maybe taking a class may be the best option. moreover, i am still trying to find a way to train in chen style tai chi at our temple. it will be tough to get out of the office in time for a 5pm training but let's see.
i do feel generally pretty tired a lot earlier & faster these days. so i have to learn to combat it with more activity. more research is needed along, of course, with MORE CHI!
