competing temples

one could take this a couple of different ways:
temples that compete against one another in actual martial competion, or
temples that offer shaolin kung fu each with a different slant, or
temples as nemeses.
this comes up because i just learned a colleague (in my company) has been training at manhattan shaolin kung fu chan center & has invited me to check it out knowing that our sifus are not terribly fond of one another (to say the least). as i am always up for an adventure, i think i will go & at least watch a class. most likely i will take a class & perhaps i can round up a few kung fu brothers to join me. after all, it is only good that we see what else is out there. though i did personally do due dilligence before joining USA shaolin temple. i actually did check out sifu guolin's manhattan place (his main place is in flushing) but i found it lacking in the communication skills needed (for me at least) to understand training for i am no fan of monkey-see, monkey-do, i have questions dammit! but the temple has since moved to christie & my colleague tells me great things about it. also i am curious, if not a little stunned that in his one year there (to compete with mine) he has learned FIVE forms whereas i am in the middle of my 2nd form. moreover his temple does not differentiate between levels, all can learn all they want at any time & the training schedule is daily in the evening & oh it is cheaper. i don't know. it is worth checking out & i will no doubt report back.
quan tuo is aware of my intention & may accompany me in this visit.
