the title comes from a cheers episode when sam malone was retelling parts of glory days while with the red sox & that this was one of the injuries. i am not suffering that so much as some soreness around where the legs meet the torso. i had to work late [you must know how much i detest that] & missed training which exacerbated everything. i think i have atrophied! it's been over a week since i last trained, well this is the 8th day & i did spend an inordinate amount of time laying about this long weekend so this is not entirely unexpected. i should blame some of it on the heat or what i suspected was a gas leak at home! last night quan tuo helped me stretch some of this injury which i will do again tonight because it does feel slightly better after the initial pain of stretching. either that or i am getting used to it. with tom in town again, i will most likely not train again til next tuesday which will be the first 2 full weeks in a long time that i haven't trained. what will become of me then?
we shall never not know because i will stretch everyday. i will take the boyos for even longer walks, more often & i will train at home. of course i have to get on the "summer schedule" for walks since it's often too hot by 10am for the boyos. the morning is such a nice time at the run & in the hood due mercifully to the late in the day schedules of most of the populace.
this soreness is some of the worst i've felt in relation to training. muscle soreness i actually have grown to enjoy. this is different & prominent when i am walking. i am sure the heels i wear don't help one bit but ah well. it reminds me of that time i went skydiving many moons ago where because of a faulty parachute, i ended up hung between 3 trees 2+ miles away from the landing site. it was the closest experience to being drawn & quartered, hanging there in betwen the trees, man those parachute lines hurt! oh good times.
